Samuel B Everett joined company "G" 4th Illinois Cavalry for a period of three years, records show he was discharged 23 Jun 1865, which makes this writer believe that he also served with the 12th Illinois Cavalry, though this is not listed, I was able to locate a pension record on Samuel filing for a invalid pension in the state of California.

This is such a bad copy I am unable to read the date when he filed for the pension, and of course it looks as though he was unmarried because no wife claimed as a Widow
