Pvt. Jonas Seeley from Bristol joined Company "C" 4th Illinois Cavalry on Sept. 26, 1861. The Regiment was sent from Vicksburg to Natchez during the winter of 1863-64, which generally dates the photo by the back mark location. He mustered out on Nov. 3, 1864 as a Full Sergeant.
